This work isn't just what I do. It's who I am. And it was born from my own journey of learning to manage money with faith, not fear.
My Story
I'm a healthcare mom of three amazing kids, a medical coder with over 15 years in the industry, and someone who knows firsthand what it's like to navigate financial challenges while raising a family and working in a demanding field.
I became a teen mom, got married at 18, and by 24 I was divorced and suddenly responsible for everything. At 19, I became a homeowner. For over 15 years, I've been figuring out how to make every dollar count while providing for my children and maintaining a home on a single income.
For years, I thought I was "bad with money." I avoided looking at my bank account. I lived in constant financial anxiety. And I carried so much shame every time things didn't go according to plan.
But here's what I learned: Financial struggle isn't a character flaw. It's a skill gap, and it's one you can close.
That's why I created Gracefully Simplified. Because I believe every woman deserves to experience financial peace, and that peace is possible when you root your finances in faith.
The Beginning
I grew up watching my mom work in HR and payroll positions within healthcare institutions. She paid employees. Managed budgets. Handled numbers with precision.
From a young age, money wasn't hidden from me. It was taught.
My mom introduced me to the envelope system early. I was taught: Give God 10%. Save 10%. Spend the rest responsibly.
At the time, it felt simple. And it was.
I didn't grow up seeing financial chaos. My mom and stepdad both worked, our needs were met, and we lived within our means. I attended private school for years, and when expenses increased, we transitioned into public school and later a magnet high school based on academic performance.
What I absorbed without realizing it was this belief: Debt was normal. Car notes were normal. Student loans were expected. College debt was just "part of the process."
And for a long time, I didn't question it.
The Transformation
At 24, I became a single mom to three kids with a mortgage and no backup plan. Everything I thought I knew about money suddenly wasn't enough.
The envelope system worked when I had two incomes. But now? I was the only one responsible for everything. The house payment. The utilities. The groceries. Three kids depending on me.
I was working in healthcare as a medical coder, handling medical billing, admissions, patient access, and revenue cycle work. I had a steady income, but I had no idea where my money was actually going. I'd look at my bank account and wonder how I was always so close to zero.
That's when I realized: I had to unlearn what I thought was normal. Car notes weren't just "part of life." Debt wasn't something I had to accept. And the simple budgeting I learned as a kid wasn't built for the reality I was living.
I had three kids depending on me. I wanted to honor God with my finances. And I knew there had to be a better way.
So I started learning. And everything changed.
The Lessons
I learned that budgeting isn't about restriction. It's about freedom. It's about telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.
I learned that financial peace doesn't require a six-figure income. It requires intentionality, clarity, and a willingness to change your habits.
I learned that debt isn't "just normal." It's a choice. And you can choose differently.
And most importantly, I learned that God cares about your finances. Not because He needs your money, but because He knows financial stress steals your peace and He wants better for you.
That's what I want for you, too.
A Day in the Life

"Working from home, serving healthcare moms, building a life of purpose."
Our Mission
Gracefully Simplified Financial Coaching is a faith-centered approach to money that removes shame, releases guilt, and replaces overwhelm with simple, life-giving systems.
At Gracefully Simplified, we believe grace belongs in your financial journey too.
Because as mothers, we give grace freely to our children, our families, our workplaces. But often deny it to ourselves, especially when it comes to money.
How I Work
Financial coaching isn't one-size-fits-all. Here's what makes my approach different.
I'll never make you feel bad about where you're starting. Instead, I'll help you see how far you can go, and I'll walk every step with you.
We'll tackle the practical side of budgeting (the numbers, the systems, the strategies) and the spiritual side (your mindset, your beliefs, your peace).
I don't believe in rigid rules that make you feel like a failure. I believe in creating systems that work for your life and actually stick.
Every strategy I teach is grounded in biblical wisdom and proven financial principles. You'll get advice that's both spiritually sound and practically effective.
What's Possible
When you manage your money with faith and intentionality, everything changes.
You sleep better at night because you know you have a plan.
You stop living paycheck to paycheck and start building a cushion.
You teach your children that money is a tool, not a source of shame or stress.
You give generously, save consistently, and spend with purpose.
That's the fruit of faithful stewardship. And it's available to you.
Your Journey
If you're reading this, chances are you're tired of feeling overwhelmed by your finances. You want to do better, but you're not sure where to start.
Maybe you've tried budgeting before and it didn't stick. Maybe you're drowning in debt and don't see a way out. Maybe you're making good money but still living paycheck to paycheck.
Whatever your story, I want you to know this: You are not alone. Change is possible.
I've been where you are. I know what it's like to feel ashamed of your financial situation. I know what it's like to avoid your bank account because you're afraid of what you'll find.
But I also know what's on the other side and it's worth the work.
Financial peace isn't just about the numbers. It's about the life you get to live when money is no longer a source of constant stress.
If you're ready for that kind of freedom, I'd be honored to walk this journey with you.
